Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in
bright blue; total area 5322 square miles.

Within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary,
there are no reserves north of the Monterey Peninsula.

The only three reserves within the sanctuary are, from north to south,
Hopkins Marine Life Refuge off Pacific Grove,
Point Lobos State Reserve, and
Big Creek Marine Reserve. Each of these is mapped in bright red, but they ares
still so small as to be nearly invisible. We've
pointed to them with red arrows.
The total area of all three is 2.69 square miles, or 0.05% of the Sanctuary.
